What is a speech pathologist?
A speech pathologist is a health professional that diagnoses and treats communication and swallowing impairments.
How many sessions will I need?
There are many factors to determine how many sessions you may need. Each individual will have their own goals they want to achieve. The speech pathologist will work with you to plan how to best achieve your goals.
Do I need a referral from a doctor to receive services?
You are able to refer yourself for our services. Your GP is also welcome to refer on your behalf. However, there are currently no medicare rebates offered with this service that would require a medical referral.
How do I make an appointment?

Who is eligible for services?
We provide private speech pathology services to adults 18 years and over in the southern Tasmanian region.
How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Simply notify us in advance via email of your request. Please provide as much notice as possible to allow us to offer another client the opportunity to receive our service.

Hobart Speech Pathology is registered to deliver private health services. You may be eligible for cover by your health insurance provide depending on your policy. Please check with your health insurance provider on the terms of your private health cover.

Yes. Hobart Speech Pathology is a registered NDIS provider. We provide services to eligible participants who are self-managed, plan-managed, and agency-managed.
No. Unfortunately, we do not provide a service under Medicare.

We accept VISA and MASTERCARD. Approved payment options are provided on your invoice.
We may have a waitlist for access to Hobart Speech Pathology services. Once we have received your referral, you will be advised of the current waitlist status and estimated time frame for initial appointment. You will have the option of joining the waitlist and can remove yourself from this list at any time.
No. Unfortunately, we do not provide a service to clients under 18 years of age.
